Terms of Use

These Terms explain the rules for using Doc Translator, including accounts, subscriptions, Credits, uploaded files, and translation results.

Last updated:

1. Acceptance and service scope

These Terms of Use (the “Terms”) govern your access to and use of Doc Translator, including our website, text translation, file translation, image translation, account, file library, payment, and related services (collectively, the “Service”).

By accessing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Eligibility

The Service is not intended for anyone under 16. By using the Service, you confirm that you are at least 16 and have the legal capacity to accept these Terms. If you use the Service for an organization, you confirm that you are authorized to bind that organization.

3. Accounts and security

Some features require an account created through a supported third-party sign-in provider. You must provide accurate information and keep your account and sign-in method secure. You are responsible for activity performed through your account.

Contact us promptly at support@doctranslator.io if you believe your account has been accessed without authorization.

4. Plans, Credits, and payments

  • The Service may offer free access and paid membership plans. The current price, billing period, included Credits, file limits, and other plan benefits are shown on the Pricing page or at checkout.
  • Paid subscriptions renew automatically for the selected billing period unless you cancel before the renewal date. You can manage renewal through the subscription portal available from your account.
  • Stripe processes payments. You authorize us and Stripe to charge the payment method associated with your checkout for applicable subscription fees and taxes.
  • Credits are units for measuring use of the Service. They are not money, stored value, or property; they cannot be transferred, resold, or redeemed for cash. Credit estimates and charging rules are shown before a translation where supported.
  • Failed translation jobs are handled according to the Credit refund behavior shown in the Service. Provider delays, retries, or a result that requires human review do not necessarily mean a job has failed.

Except where required by law or expressly stated at checkout, payments are non-refundable. We may change plans, prices, or Credit rules prospectively, but changes will not retroactively alter a completed purchase.

5. Your files and content

You retain your rights in text, documents, images, and other content you submit (“User Content”). You grant us a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide license to host, copy, transmit, analyze, translate, format, and display User Content only as needed to operate, secure, and support the Service.

You represent that you have the rights and permissions needed to submit the User Content and request its translation. You are responsible for the legality of that content and for complying with intellectual property, confidentiality, privacy, export, and other applicable requirements.

6. Translation results

Subject to these Terms and applicable law, you may use the translation results generated from your User Content. You remain responsible for reviewing, editing, publishing, distributing, and otherwise using those results.

Machine and AI-assisted translation can omit, mistranslate, or reformat content. We do not guarantee accuracy, completeness, uniqueness, fitness for a particular purpose, or preservation of every visual detail. Translation results are not legal, medical, financial, or other professional advice. Obtain qualified human review before relying on a result for a high-stakes purpose.

7. Third-party services

We rely on third parties for authentication, hosting, storage, analytics, payments, and translation processing. Depending on the feature and file type, your content and related data may be processed by providers such as Supabase, Vercel, Railway, Stripe, DeepL, OpenAI, Google, Meta, Google Analytics, and PostHog. Their availability and processing may be governed by their own terms and privacy practices. More detail is provided in our Privacy Policy.

8. Prohibited use

You may not use the Service to:

  • violate any law or the rights of another person;
  • upload malware, illegal content, or content that infringes intellectual property, privacy, confidentiality, or publicity rights;
  • impersonate others, facilitate fraud, evade sanctions, or create misleading materials intended to cause harm;
  • probe, disrupt, overload, scrape, reverse engineer, bypass access controls, or interfere with the Service or another user;
  • resell or provide access to the Service except under a separate written agreement with us; or
  • use automated means in a way that exceeds documented interfaces, rate limits, or plan limits.

9. Our intellectual property

The Service—including its software, design, branding, interfaces, documentation, and other platform materials—is owned by Doc Translator or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. These Terms do not transfer ownership of the Service to you. Feedback you voluntarily provide may be used without restriction or compensation to improve the Service.

10. Changes and availability

We may add, change, suspend, or discontinue features, supported file formats, providers, limits, or other parts of the Service. Translation jobs may be delayed or unavailable because of maintenance, demand, third-party outages, file characteristics, or events beyond our reasonable control. You should keep independent copies of important source files and results.

11. Suspension and account termination

We may restrict, suspend, or terminate access when we reasonably believe you violated these Terms, created risk for the Service or others, failed to pay amounts due, or when required by law.

You may disable your account after canceling any active subscription. Disabling an account does not automatically erase every file, transaction, membership, Credit, security, or audit record. See the Privacy Policy for current retention and deletion details.

12. Disclaimers

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, accuracy, or uninterrupted availability. Nothing in these Terms excludes warranties that cannot legally be excluded.

13. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Doc Translator and its affiliates, personnel, and providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, exemplary, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or business opportunity arising from the Service.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total aggregate liability for claims relating to the Service will not exceed the amount you paid to us during the three months before the event giving rise to the claim. These limits do not apply where prohibited by applicable law.

14. Indemnity

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Doc Translator and its affiliates, personnel, and providers from third-party claims arising from your User Content, your use of translation results, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of another person’s rights.

15. Applicable law and disputes

These Terms are governed by applicable law, without limiting any mandatory consumer protection rights that apply to you. Before filing a formal claim, you agree to contact us and make a reasonable effort to resolve the dispute informally. Any court or tribunal with lawful jurisdiction may hear disputes that cannot be resolved informally.

16. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as the Service or law changes. We will post the revised version here and change the “Last updated” date. If a change is material, we may provide additional notice where reasonably practical or required by law. Continued use after an updated version takes effect means you accept the revised Terms.
